Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Thierry Henry will rejoin Arsenal on a loan deal next month.
It emerged yesterday that the New York Red Bulls striker was close to making a sensational return to his former club on a two-month loan deal.
While the Gunners boss has confirmed that the Frenchman will wear an Arsenal shirt once again, Wenger has claimed that a deal is yet to be finalised.
"The deal is not completed, and at the moment we can't announce anything," Wenger said in a press conference. "He is experienced, he is quality, and can help the players on and off the pitch.
"When Robin [van Persie] and Thierry play together we will do very well. It shows that Arsenal is always special to players, such as Sol Campbell, Jens Lehmann and now Thierry. It was my idea. He was happy about it, but it was my idea."
Henry spent eight years at Arsenal, scoring 174 goals before moving to Barcelona in 2007.
