Arsene Wenger rues careless Arsenal performance

Arsene Wenger reflects on his side's 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was left to rue his side's misfiring performance after West Bromwich Albion ended their six-game unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory at The Hawthorns this afternoon.

The Gunners took the lead through Olivier Giroud, only to be pegged back and overturned by a resilient Baggies side.

"We did give everything until the end. Maybe we were a bit too sure of ourselves. Overall it was a bad day," Wenger told BBC Sport.

"We scored an own goal, missed a penalty and missed a lot of chances. It is very disappointing."

The result leaves Arsenal fourth in the Premier League table, while West Brom climb to 12th with 17 points from their opening 13 games.
