Arsenal's Jack Wilshere: 'We must improve if we are to fight for Premier League title'

Jack Wilshere insists that Arsenal need to do better if they are to try to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has urged his teammates to improve in order to lead a charge for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners finished the campaign 16 points adrift of champions Manchester United, but were able to clinch a top-four spot ahead of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

"The games earlier on don't decide our season but we have got to think that we have to win them, because that is what champions do," Wilshere told the club's official website.

"The likes of Manchester United go away and win games and leave you thinking, 'they keep winning and winning' and at the end of the season the points tally shows that.

"That is what we have to do [to challenge for the title], and we also have to improve our record against the big teams. It has not been great this season and if you want to become champions you have to beat those sides."

Meanwhile, the England international has claimed that he hopes that he can play more regularly for the club next season.
