Having fully recovered from a lengthy ankle injury, Jack Wilshere is hoping to make more appearances for Arsenal next season.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that he would like to make more appearances for the club next season.

The England international featured on 33 occasions in all competitions during the most recent campaign, which came after he had spent 17 months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Despite insisting that he was "pleased" with the number of outings that he had got under his belt, the 21-year-old revealed that he is hoping to turn out for the Gunners even more next year.

"From a personal point of view it has been good season for me, especially after last year," he told the club's official website. "I played no games last year, so to get 33 under my belt this time was great and it puts me in good stead for next season as well.

"Hopefully I can get more games under my belt, improve my form a bit more and get back to the level I know I can get to.

"I had a good run of games after my injury, then I picked up another injury, which set me back a bit. But before that I was pleased with my form and how the team were playing."

Wilshere found the net twice during his 33 displays.
