Team News: Theo Walcott out, Aaron Ramsey on Arsenal bench for Sunderland clash

Theo Walcott is ruled out of Arsenal's Premier League match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, while fit-again Aaron Ramsey returns to the bench.

Theo Walcott has been left out of the Arsenal squad for today's Premier League match against Sunderland due to injury, while fit-again Aaron Ramsey has been named on the bench at the Stadium of Light.

Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla also miss out due to minor niggles, while Olivier Giroud is included among the substitutes following an injury spell on the sidelines.

Manager Arsene Wenger has made two changes to the side that recorded a goalless draw with Middlesbrough last weekend as Kieran Gibbs makes his first start since March and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes in for Walcott.

As for the hosts, Sunderland boss David Moyes has made just one change to the team that suffered a late 1-0 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Billy Jones is preferred to Javier Manquillo at right-back, while Adnan Januzaj has returned to the bench after recovering from an ankle injury.

Sunderland: Pickford; Jones, O'Shea, Kone, van Aanholt; Rodwell, Pienaar, Ndong, Khazri, Watmore; Defoe
Subs: Mika, Djilobodji, Love, Anichebe, Manquillo, Januzaj, Gooch

Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs; Elneny, Coquelin; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Iwobi; Sanchez
Subs: Ospina, Jenkinson, Holding, Gabriel, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Giroud
