Arsenal 'highly unlikely to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer'

Arsenal are reportedly highly unlikely to sign main target Wilfried Zaha this summer after angering Crystal Palace with their initial £40m bid for the forward.

Arsenal are reportedly 'highly unlikely' to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer after infuriating Crystal Palace with their initial approach for the player.

Palace's hierarchy is said to be left 'fuming' by Arsenal's £40m bid for Zaha, with the club valuing their talismanic forward at £80m.

The Gunners are preparing an improved bid and could possibly include players in the deal, but Palace are set to turn down this offer as well.

According to The Mirror, the South London club are angry at Arsenal's tactics to sign Zaha, which they believe were deliberately intended to unsettle the Ivory Coast international, and will subsequently not entertain the idea of selling him to the Emirates.

Arsenal are open to offloading Carl Jenkinson as one of at least two players in a part-exchange deal and will listen to offers for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi too.

Eighteen-year-old Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli, who signed for £6m, is the only piece of business completed by Unai Emery's side so far this summer.
