Arsenal to make Medhi Benatia bid?

A French report says that Arsenal are preparing to make an offer for Bayern Munich's Moroccan defender Medhi Benatia.

Arsenal will lodge a bid with Bayern Munich for Medhi Benatia over the coming days, according to a report in France.

The 29-year-old recently suggested that he would have no hesitation in leaving the Allianz Arena this summer, having failed to hold down a regular place in the starting lineup since his arrival from Roma in 2014.

RMC Sport claims that Benatia's willingness to move has captured the attention of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

It is believed that the experienced French manager is eager to bolster the spine at the Emirates Stadium, hence his supposed interest in Bayern's Moroccan defender.

Benatia has made 46 appearances for the Bavarians, from which he has scored three goals.
