Barcelona are allegedly giving consideration to making a move for an Arsenal midfielder during the summer transfer window.
Hansi Flick has worked wonders with the players currently at his disposal, collecting 24 points from nine games to sit at the top of the La Liga standings.
The Catalan giants currently possess a three-point lead over rivals Real Madrid, giving hope that the current crop can regain the Spanish top-flight title.
However, Barcelona are also moving towards a position where they will be able to sign players more freely than they have been able to in recent years.
As well as a return to the renovated Camp Nou next year, Barcelona will hope for an extended run in the new-look Champions League to generate further income.
Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams is known to be on the radar of club officials given the links to the Euro 2024 winger during the previous market.
Nevertheless, despite the prospect of an improved financial position, president Joan Laporta will retain an interest in acquiring free agents should a suitable opportunity arise.

Barcelona monitoring Partey situation
According to Relevo, Barcelona have taken note of the performances of Thomas Partey during the opening two months of the season.
Such was the drop-off in availability during 2023-24 that the Ghana international has been allowed to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 31-year-old has since returned for this campaign with some of his best form in an Arsenal shirt, starting all nine games in the Premier League and Champions League.
As such, a situation may arise where Arsenal push hard for a renewal before the end of the year, particularly when Partey could hold discussions with foreign clubs over a pre-contract agreement from January onwards.

What is Partey's likely next move?
There have been suggestions in the past that Partey is open to taking on a new challenge, especially when only nine starts where made in the Premier League last season.
That said, it is realistic that the situation could change if Mikel Arteta continues to select him in a team that will challenge for silverware.
On the flip side, Partey is also no stranger to La Liga having produced the best stint of his career at Atletico Madrid, contributing 16 goals and 12 assists from his 188 appearances before his 2020 transfer to North London.
