Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Serge Gnabry from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old was entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and had been linked with a move back to his home country of Germany, with Bayern Munich also thought to be interested.
However, Werder Bremen have won the race for his signature, despite the player's father suggesting that a switch to the Allianz Arena was all but completed.
Interest in Gnabry increased this summer as he helped Germany to a silver medal at the Rio Olympics, finishing the tournament as joint top scorer with six goals.
The midfielder made just 18 appearances for the Gunners during his five years at the club, scoring one goal.
