Bayern Munich midfielder Luis Gustavo will make a statement clarifying his future on Thursday, according to the player's agent.

Bayern Munich midfielder will make a statement regarding his future on Thursday, according to the player's agent.

Gustavo has been persistently linked with a £16m summer switch to Arsenal in recent weeks, with Napoli and Wolfsburg also reportedly interested in signing the Brazil regular.

The 26-year-old is currently on international duty with the Selecao in Switzerland but will look to clarify his long-term future after Wednesday's friendly, according to agent Roger Wittmann.

He told a German television station: "Luiz will make a statement on his future on Thursday."

Despite helping Bayern win a historic treble, Gustavo is surplus to requirements this season at the Allianz Arena as new coach Pep Guardiola prefers to use a withdrawn playmaker in central midfield.

In an interview with The Guardian yesterday, Gustavo declared that he would like to play for Arsenal, who are currently favourites to close their second signing of the close season.
