Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney reportedly decides to stay at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has reportedly decided to stay at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 26-year-old has spent the last four years with the Gunners since joining from Celtic for £25m in 2019, chipping in with five goals and 14 assists in 123 appearances across all competitions.

However, Tierney has struggled with injuries and a lack of game time under manager Mikel Arteta, and he was forced to play second fiddle behind new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko last season.

The Scotland international started just 15 matches for Arsenal in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign and he has only been named in the starting lineup on four occasions since the turn of the year.

Tierney still has three years remaining on his contract at the Emirates, but there have been suggestions that the left-back could seek pastures new this summer.

Tierney recently admitted that he remains "happy" in North London but has also acknowledged that his future in North London is out of his control.

A potential return to Celtic under manager Brendan Rodgers has been mooted for Tierney, while Premier League clubs including Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest.

A recent report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, via CaughtOffside, claims that Arsenal would consider selling Tierney this summer if they receive an 'important bid'.

However, according to Fichajes, Tierney has decided to remain with the Gunners for the 2023-24 season and intends to fight for his place under Arteta.

Arteta is also keen to see Tierney stay put after stating that the left-back remains 'in his plans' going forward.

Speaking to reporters last weekend, as quoted by The Glasgow Times, Arteta said: "He is, he is in our plans, and as you said, he came on really well (on Saturday against Manchester United). It's not the first time, every time he's played in pre-season, he's been really good.

"This is why we want to create competition in the team, raise the level of each individual and that's going to be a huge benefit for the team to get to another level."

Tierney has featured in all four of Arsenal's pre-season friendly matches, although he is yet to start a game despite the absence of the injured Zinchenko, with Jakub Kiwior, Takehiro Tomiyasu and new recruit Jurrien Timber all preferred to start at left-back.
