Liverpool to battle Premier League rivals for Jean-Philippe Gbamin?

Mainz 05 midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin's agent claims that Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Everton have all shown an interest in his client.

The agent of Mainz 05 midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has claimed that Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Everton have all shown an interest in his client this summer.

Gbamin, 23, scored twice in 33 appearances for Mainz during the 2018-19 campaign.

A five-time Ivory Coast international, the midfielder started his career with French outfit Lens before switching to the Bundesliga in July 2016.

"I had meetings with Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and many other clubs," Bernard Collignon, who represents Gbamin, told Fussball Transfers. "He is in the shortlist. However, not as a top candidate, because its exact position is unclear."

Gbamin largely operates as a holding midfielder but has also played in central defence for his current club.
