Lyon confident of Clement Grenier stay

Reported Arsenal target Clement Grenier will sign an extended contract at Lyon this summer, according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Lyon have insisted that reported Arsenal target Clement Grenier will commit his long-term future to the club by signing an extended contract.

The 22-year-old, whose current deal at Stade Garland expires at the end of next season, has been touted as one of the best prospects in Europe and recently earned his first French international cap.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be keeping tabs on the technically-gifted midfielder, but Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas expects Grenier to remain with the Ligue 1 outfit this summer and beyond.

Aulas told L'Equipe: "Grenier will be here next year, we're looking at a one-year extension, perhaps more."

Grenier made 33 Lyon appearances during the 2012-2013 campaign, scoring seven goals.
