Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy nearing Bordeaux move

Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is expected to complete a loan move to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is nearing a loan move to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, according to reports.

The France international has made no secret of his desire to leave the Emirates Stadium this month in search of regular first-team football ahead of Euro 2016.

The likes of Sunderland, Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen have all been linked with the 30-year-old, while Manchester United emerged as surprise contenders earlier today.

However, a move to Ligue 1 now appears most likely, with the loan deal expected to be finalised before the transfer deadline this evening.

Bordeaux currently sit seventh in the Ligue 1 table and should the switch go through then Debuchy could make his debut against Lyon on Wednesday night.
