Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger today confirmed that Olivier Giroud has committed to the club with a new contract.
Reports emerged overnight that Giroud, 28, was to put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal.
When asked about the situation with Giroud - currently out injured until the New Year with an ankle problem - Wenger told a press conference: "It is done".
He added: "We want stability and to keep the core of our team together. Giroud is an important player here.
"It is agreed. When it is completely done, we will announce it."
Since joining the Gunners from Montpellier two years ago, French international Giroud has netted 27 goals in the Premier League.
