Agent: 'Aaron Ramsey still waiting on new Arsenal contract'

The agent of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey reveals that he is "still waiting" for official talks to begin over a new contract amid links with Liverpool and Barcelona.

The agent of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed that he is "still waiting" to begin talks over a new contract at the club.

Ramsey's current deal at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire at the end of next season, and the club were thought to have been in communication with the Welshman's representatives regarding an extension in recent months.

However, the 27-year-old's agent David Baldwin has suggested on Instagram that official negotiations have still not begun, despite Ramsey being named the club's Player of the Season for the second time in four years.

A fan account on Instagram claimed that talks had started between the two parties, but Baldwin responded on his own official page to say: "Not quite, we are still waiting!"

Liverpool and Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Ramsey's situation, with the Wales international free to speak to other European clubs from January onwards if a new deal is not agreed before then.

Ramsey joined Arsenal in 2008 and has since made 329 appearances for the club, scoring 58 goals.
