Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to completing a deal for 18-year-old Barcelona playmaker Riqui Puig, who has rejected a new deal with the Spanish champions.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig this summer.

The 18-year-old - who will turn 19 in August - has trained with the Barcelona first team this season and made his debut for their second-string outfit in February as a substitute against Gimnastic.

However, the youngster has so far been unable to agree terms over a new contract with the Spanish champions and is now expected to leave the club as a result.

The Daily Mail reports that Puig is interested in joining Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, although there is also understood to be interest from other European clubs.

Puig's performance in Barcelona's UEFA Youth League final win over Chelsea has increased the interest in him further, although the Spaniard is thought to favour a move to North London.

Spurs have also been linked with Anthony Martial, Wilfried Zaha and Ryan Sessegnon this summer, with Pochettino keen to oversee a £150m overhaul of his squad.
