Report: Arsenal make approach for Juventus defender Medhi Benatia

Medhi Benatia has been approached by Arsenal over a move from Juventus, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly made an approach to sign Moroccan defender Medhi Benatia from Juventus.

The 31-year-old is out of favour at the Allianz Stadium after falling down the defensive pecking order, starting just five Serie A games this season.

With the Gunners on the lookout for a new centre-back, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Benatia has been targeted.

Arsenal are said to have enquired about the 31-year-old's availability and could make an offer if Juve are willing to do business.

The report indicates that a deal to take Benatia to the Emirates Stadium may be linked to Aaron Ramsey's expected switch to Turin.

Manchester United were previously linked with the ex-Udinese, Roma and Bayern Munich man.
