Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly remained as the frontrunners to sign Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence, despite interest from the continent.
Spence has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Championship this season, making a total of 26 starts on loan at Nottingham Forest.
With less than 18 months remaining on his contract, parent club Boro will cash in on the 21-year-old this summer, a scenario which has led to many clubs monitoring developments regarding his future.
Nevertheless, according to Goal, Spurs are still fancied to eventually get a deal for the Englishman over the line with Antonio Conte keen to improve in the wing-back areas.
The same outlet has claimed that Bayern Munich have recently joined the race for Spence, although the right-sided player would likely find himself as a backup squad member at the Allianz Arena.
Arsenal are among the other Premier League clubs who are said to be admirers.
