Tottenham Hotspur reportedly express their interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng on a free transfer this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng this summer.

The 32-year-old's contract at the Allianz Arena is set to expire at the end of June, and he will be leaving the Bundesliga champions at the end of this season.

London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea have previously expressed an interest in Boateng, however according to Sky Germany, Tottenham are now the favourites to land the German defender.

Boateng's representatives and Spurs are also believed to have held talks in recent weeks with a view to joining Jose Mourinho's side.

The centre-back has been a pivotal player for Hansi Flick's side this campaign, making 32 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich, who currently sit five points clear at the summit of the Bundesliga.

Since joining from Manchester City a decade ago, Boateng has made more the 350 appearances from Bayern, winning eight German top-flight titles.
