Al-Ahli reportedly as the favourites to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with the attacker potentially leaving Old Trafford in January.

Al-Ahli have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Marcus Rashford, with the Manchester United attacker widely expected to be on the move during the January transfer window.

Rashford has been left out of Man United's last three matchday squads, with his latest snub coming against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

The 27-year-old is fit and available for selection but is currently being overlooked, firstly being left out against Manchester City last weekend due to poor performances in training, before he gave an interview to journalist Henry Winter where he signalled that he was looking to leave in search of pastures new.

Paris Saint-Germain continue to be linked with Rashford, but there have been strong reports linking him with a switch to the Saudi Pro League of late.

According to talkSPORT, Al-Ahli are currently at the head of the queue, with the Saudi Pro League outfit determined to win the race for Rashford, but they would first need to offload or re-register a foreign player.

Al-Ahli 'emerge as the favourites for Rashford'

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with Rashford, but Man United are allegedly not prepared to let their academy product to make the move to another Premier League club.

Rashford has scored seven times and registered three assists in 24 appearances for Man United this season, with his Premier League record standing at four goals and one assist in 15 outings.

The forward has 138 goals and 63 assists in 426 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, but there is a chance that he has played his final match for the club.

Rashford's wages, which are in excess of £300,000 a week, make an exit complicated, especially in January, but it is difficult to imagine him staying at Old Trafford beyond the end of the winter transfer window.

How did Man United fare without Rashford vs, Bournemouth?

Man United's struggles continued on Sunday, as they suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, with their attackers struggling to make their mark during another disappointing performance.

"Everybody saw the game. You cannot speak about fair in football because they scored and we didn't, but we didn't give anything [away] until the set-pieces and then we were so near [to scoring] the goal," Man United head coach Ruben Amorim told reporters after the clash at Old Trafford.

"But I think everybody felt a little anxious, not just the players but also the fans. It's a very difficult moment for our club, you can feel it every game and especially at home.

"Two goals, like against Tottenham, very quickly, so you want to respond but you cannot do it because you suffer another goal, and then we suffer until the end of the game. I felt we created a lot of situations for our opponent [to deal with] but they managed to score and I think that makes the difference.

"Of course it's [another] one of our focuses – to maintain the calm when you concede a goal. The last match, we suffer a goal and then another goal very quickly, so we have to manage these moments. Try to pass some calm to the players and say the game has difficult moments. We have to manage these difficult moments."

Man United will be aiming to bounce back when they head to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day, and Amorim once again has a big decision to make when it comes to the involvement of Rashford.
