Kolo Toure wants Robin van Persie to switch to Manchester City

Kolo Toure says that he hopes that his former Arsenal teammate will reunite with him at Manchester City this summer.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure believes that his former Arsenal teammate Robin van Persie would be a welcome addition to the Premier League champions.

The Dutchman is expected to leave the Gunners this summer after announcing that he will not sign a fresh contract with the North London club.

"Robin is a top player," Toure told the Manchester Evening News. "I've played with him, I know him and he's a great man. At City we have great players and the club does what it wants in transfers.

"But, for me, if Robin comes it's great because I know what he can do. You have to build your squad every year to do better. To win the Champions League is very difficult as we have seen."

The 28-year-old, who has also been linked to Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona, has one year left on his current Arsenal deal.
