Arsene Wenger: 'Jack Wilshere is a big part of Arsenal's future'

Arsene Wenger believes that reported Man City target Jack Wilshere has a big part to play in the future success of Arsenal, as soon as he puts his injury hell behind him.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he has no intention of allowing midfielder Jack Wilshere to join Manchester City this summer.

The England international has endured another frustrating campaign due to various injury setbacks, although he is now in contention to start against Hull City on Monday night.

Wilshere, who has had to watch on from the bench in Arsenal's last two outings, is rumoured to be a £30m target for soon-to-be former champions City.

However, Wenger is not interested in selling one of his star midfielders, and remains confident that the 23-year-old can put his injury problems aside in order to win back a first-team spot.

"Jack is an Arsenal player. I believe the success of the club in the future years will depend on how well the young players educated here will do, and he is part of that," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"It is difficult to get in this team, I don't deny that. If you consider any individual case you can say you are sorry that he doesn't play."

Wilshere has made 22 appearances for club and country this season, with his only goal so far coming against the Citizens in a 2-2 draw last September.
