Bob Wilson: 'Petr Cech would take Arsenal to new level'

Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson says that signing Petr Cech would give the Gunners a good chance of challenging for the Premier League title.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson has said that the signing of Petr Cech would move the Gunners closer to Premier League title success.

The Chelsea shot-stopper has been heavily tipped to move across London to the Emirates Stadium, although the 33-year-old has denied that a deal has been done yet.

Wilson says that Arsenal will be pulling off a big coup should the move go through.

"I think it is an amazing signing. It's another step towards the title," Wilson told BBC Radio 5 live. "Arsenal are very close to having a squad that almost matches Chelsea, almost matches Manchester City. I think everybody knows Arsenal are minimum two, maybe three, good signings to really challenge Chelsea.

"We didn't know what we were getting with Alexis Sanchez, that he was this world class player, but we certainly know what we are getting with Petr Cech and what he can bring to the side.

"So, he's 33 now, he still has five or six season of greatness in him and he is going to give Arsenal that assurance at the back that they really need."

Cech has been with Chelsea since 2004.
