Half-Time Report: Abdoulaye Doucoure heads Rennes into half-time lead

Abdoulaye Doucoure heads Rennes into a half-time lead against AS Monaco in Ligue 1.

An Abdoulaye Doucoure goal for Rennes shortly before the break has put struggling AS Monaco a goal behind at half time in their Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Louis II this afternoon.

Philippe Montanier's side, who have scored in every Ligue 1 game this season, could have been behind inside the opening few minutes when Thomas Lemar curled a free kick just wide of goal.

Doucoure then thought he had put his side ahead on the 15-minute mark, only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

The home side's best chance of the half fell to Adama Traore who lashed an effort just wide of goal after a poor Rennes clearance.

Just as it seemed Leonardo Jardim's side would hold on until the break, Doucoure popped up to head home Ludovic Baal's left-wing cross.
