Leonardo Jardim: 'No aggression in Wallace despite sending off against Lyon'

AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim insists that Wallace is not an aggressive player despite his sending off against Lyon in Ligue 1.

AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has suggested that Wallace did not show any aggression despite his sending off in the club's 1-1 draw against Lyon in Ligue 1.

Wallace saw red midway through the second half for a challenge on Rachid Ghezzal, but Jardim has moved to support his player by proposing that his tackle might not have warranted a dismissal.

"Wallace did not do a stupid foul. It was a foul but there was no aggression," said Jardim, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"Losing him changed the game. Monaco played very well and I congratulate my players. That's all. I respect everyone. Monaco is a very nice club."

Monaco might have taken three points from the contest, before they were denied by a late goal from former Manchester United defender Rafael.
