Bernardo Silva makes permanent Monaco move

Monaco sign midfielder Bernardo Silva on a permanent deal from Benfica for £12m.

Monaco have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Bernardo Silva from Benfica for £12m.

The 20-year-old Portuguese has spent the past six months on loan at the Ligue 1 club, scoring two goals in 20 games.

Silva has made eight appearances for his country at Under-21 level.

The youngster is a product of Benfica's academy, but a lack of first-team action in recent times has seen him move on.
