Malaysian side Kelantan have appointed former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng as the club's new head coach.
Boateng brought his career to an end in Malaysia last summer, and after working in the media since his retirement, he has been handed the chance with the Super League team.
The 38-year-old has been handed a six-month contract with Kelantan, who currently sit in seventh position in their domestic standings.
Boateng, who spent 13 years of his playing career in England, replaces English-born Steve Darby.
