Brad Guzan: Stoke City loss 'extremely disappointing'

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan admits that the club's 1-0 defeat to Stoke City was 'extremely disappointing'.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan admitted that he was "extremely" disappointed by his side's 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at Villa Park.

The Potters earned all three points thanks to a Marko Arnautovic strike and the American international believes that Villa need to stick together in this difficult period.

The 31-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's disappointing any time you cannot get something from a game so for us it is extremely disappointing.

"We had a few half chances but that is the difference in this league. In the Premier League it is usually the small details that can make a big difference and today that was the case.

"We just allowed them too much time at the edge of our box and when you give a striker in this league that much time, more times than not he is going to score.

"It was not ideal but when times are hard we stick together. We need to continue working hard on the training pitch and we have to believe that our fortune will turn."

The loss saw Aston Villa remain in the relegation places in the Premier League table, as well as leaving them four points away from safety.
