Paul Lambert: 'Players are ready for Chelsea'

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert insists that his players are ready for their Premier League encounter with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that his players are ready for their Premier League encounter with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Villans take on the Blues tonight, having beaten Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium over the weekend.

"I think they are physically ready for it and mentally we are too," Lambert told the club's official website. "We have improved from last year. We have grown into it, grown into the league."

Villa suffered an 8-0 defeat when they last played Chelsea at the Bridge back in December.
