Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has claimed that his side did not deserve to lose 1-0 at Fulham on Saturday.

The Villans looked to be heading for a draw at Craven Cottage before Chris Baird netted a late winner for the hosts.

When asked if he thought that his team had done enough for a point, Lambert said: "I thought we did.

"Some of the football we played was great and coming to a hard place where their home record is very good, I thought we gave as good as we got."

The defeat has left Villa one point above the relegation zone in 17th place.
