Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton admits that it is "frustrating" not to be playing for the first team.

Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has admitted that it is "frustrating" not to be playing for the first team.

The 27-year-old right-back was told that he is not part of Paul Lambert's plans for the 2012-13 season, with Villa trying to sell him in the summer transfer window without success.

"It's frustrating," the Daily Star quotes him as saying.

"As a footballer, it is the worst situation to be in, sitting and not getting the chance to play.

"It's hard to take. Hopefully I can push my way back in."

Hutton joined Villa from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2011.
