Tim Sherwood expects departures

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood admits that he expects a number of players to leave the club before the end of the transfer window.

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has revealed that he is expecting the club to be busy selling players before the end of the transfer window.

Sherwood has strengthened his squad with 10 new signings for the first team this summer, which is likely to result in departures for players such as Philippe Senderos and Kieran Richardson.

"There are still some players here who know they can find other clubs," the Villa boss told reporters. "But I think the balance of the squad is getting a lot better.

"There are some encouraging signs but it's very early days."

Villa return to action with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
