Aston Villa target Abdoulaye Ba?

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert wants to strengthen his side's defence by signing Porto's Abdoulaye Ba.

Aston Villa are interested in signing Abdoulaye Ba on loan from Porto in January, according to reports

Paul Lambert could only name one recognised centre-back in his starting lineup for Villa's 3-2 win over Swindon Town on Tuesday night and the former Norwich City boss hopes to add Ba to his defensive ranks in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The Senegalese centre-back has not featured for Porto this season and he could be allowed to leave the Portuguese club in the next transfer window.

Ba impressed for his country when Senegal drew 1-1 with Great Britain's Olympic football team during London 2012.
