Aritz Aduriz disappointed by Spain snub

Athletic Bilbao striker Artiz Aduriz reveals his frustration after once again being overlooked for the Spain squad, despite already scoring 15 goals this season.

Athletic Bilbao striker Artiz Aduriz has revealed his frustration at once again being overlooked for the latest Spain squad.

The 34-year-old had been tipped to earn a call-up into Vicente del Bosque's squad after already hitting 15 goals for Bilbao this season.

The experienced forward was once again left out for the upcoming friendlies against England and Belgium, however, and he has refused to hide his disappointment.

"Age is relative and can't be generalised by a number to everyone," he told Marca. "Although I'm very proud to contribute to Athletic, I've always aspired to reach the top and wanted to contest competitions at other levels. I've never spoken to [Del Bosque]."

Aduriz, who has netted seven times in 10 La Liga games this season, has only won one cap for Spain and that came in 2010.
