Gabi: 'Malmo will be better at home'

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi calls Malmo "a powerful team" ahead of their meeting with the Swedish side in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi is not expecting a straightforward clash against Malmo in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The two sides played out a tight first half in their fixture last month, before Atletico netted five times in the second period to record a comfortable 5-0 win.

Gabi, however, insists that his side 'will not underestimate' the Swedish side.

"I'm expecting the Malmo we saw in the first half when we struggled to create chances against them and they were very tight at the back," he told reports at a press conference.

"In the second half they weakened physically and we were able to take advantage, but we know that at home they are very strong.

"They are a powerful team and we won't be underestimating them. At first everyone said that this group was going to be dominated by two teams (Juventus and Atletico) and if we beat Malmo it will be a big step towards qualifying for the next stage."

Atletico currently top Group A ahead of Olympiacos.
