Preview: Rayo Vallecano vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole previews the start of Atletico Madrid's La Liga title defence away at Rayo Vallecano.

Atletico Madrid are likely to give league debuts to both Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann as they begin the defence of their La Liga title.

Both attackers have been purchased in big-money moves from Bayern Munich and Real Sociedad respectively to counteract the departure of last season's top goalscorer Diego Costa.

After Thibaut Courtois returned to Chelsea, goalkeeper Jan Oblak could get the nod over Miguel Angel Moya.

Rayo Vallecano finished comfortably in 12th position during the last campaign but manager Paco Jemez will be craving a top-half position this time around.

Los Franjirrojos's squad has been boosted by the summer acquisitions of Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta and Swansea City winger Alejandro Pozuelo, with both likely to feature at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.
