Former Atletico Madrid player Paulo Futre has revealed that Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has confirmed that the Colombian star will not be leaving La Liga in January.
The 26-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from a number of clubs around Europe due to his prolific form for Atletico so far this season.
Despite rumours of a possible January switch to the Premier League, Futre told Marca that Mendes recently stated in a conversation: "You're mad Paulo, they're just rumours. Radamel isn't leaving Atletico. It'd be impossible for him to leave in January."
English champions Manchester City and Champions League holders Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing the forward.
