Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has played down suggestions that he went to watch Radamel Falcao in Atletico Madrid's 2-1 win over Malaga on Sunday.

The Italian appeared in the stands next to the Colombian striker's agent, but Mancini has rejected suggestions that he was watching the striker, who has scored nine league goals this season.

"I am here to see my son who played in Valladolid," he told reporters.

Mancini's son, Andrea, currently plays for Real Valladolid.
