Sunderland have announced the signing of Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid on an initial season-long loan.
The full-back, who was linked to Watford, will move to the Stadium of Light on a temporary contract but there is an option for a permanent move at the end of the campaign.

The 22-year-old, who has represented Spain at every youth level, spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Liverpool, but failed to secure a permanent spot at Anfield.
In the 2015-16 campaign, Manquillo played for Marseille on a temporary deal but now he returns to the English top flight to play under David Moyes on Wearside.
Should the full-back impress at Sunderland, the club will offer him a four-year contract.
