Markus Weinzierl says that Augsburg should have done better against Nuremberg in last night's Bundesliga encounter at the SGL Arena.

Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl has said that he expected more from his team against Nuremberg last night.

The 38-year-old said that conceding the first goal at the SGL Arena meant that the gameplan went out the window and, despite seeing plenty of the ball, his team did not create enough chances.

"Of course we are disappointed," Weinzierl told reporters.

"We expected more. We knew we couldn't go behind but unfortunately that happened and that wreaked havoc with our plan.

"After the equaliser we played well, including the second half. Nurnberg then defended their lead very well and despite having a lot of possession, we couldn't find a way to hurt Nurnberg with it."

Augsburg remain 16th in the Bundesliga, six points off Wolfsburg.
