Scottish League One roundup: Ayr United go top, Stenhousemuir in comeback win

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action in Scottish League One as Ayr United leapfrog Dunfermline Athletic into top spot.

Ayr United have moved to the top of the Scottish League One table with a 3-1 win over Stranraer.

Robbie Crawford's opener was cancelled out by Scott Robertson but Ayr took a half-time lead through Jamie Adams and Jordan Preston added a third in the second half.

Stenhousemuir came from three goals down to defeat Peterhead by a single goal. A Rory McAllister hat-trick looked to have secured the points for Peterhead before the break but four goals, including a brace from veteran striker Jason Scotland, moved Stenny above their opponents into sixth.

Bottom club Brechin City narrowly beat Forfar Athletic to move two points off safety.

Elsewhere, Airdrieonians let a lead slip to draw 1-1 against Albion Rovers and Cowdenbeath's match against Dunfermline Athletic finished goalless.

Results in full: Airdrieonians 1-1 Albion Rovers (1-1), Ayr United 3-1 Stranraer (2-1), Cowdenbeath 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic (0-0), Forfar Athletic 0-1 Brechin City (0-0), Stenhousemuir 4-3 Peterhead (1-3)
