Barcelona clash with Dynamo Kiev 'in danger of being called off'

Barcelona's Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday night will reportedly be called off if one more of Kiev's 13-strong squad tests positive for COVID-19.

Barcelona's Champions League showdown with Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday night is reportedly in serious danger of being called off due to a coronavirus outbreak.

The Ukrainian outfit have travelled to Spain with only 13 first-team players in their squad - the minimum that UEFA's health protocols allow.

A further six youth-team players have also been included in the travelling party after six senior members of the squad tested positive for coronavirus.

However, Mundo Deportivo claims that if one more of Dynamo's first-team players - those on 'List A' in their chosen Champions League squad - tests positive then the match will be postponed under UEFA rules.

The six players who have tested positive so far trained with the rest of the squad as recently as Sunday, with further tests having taken place on Tuesday morning.

Should the match be postponed then it would need to be played before the January 28 cut-off point for the competition.

Dynamo, who have picked up one point from their two Group G games so far, travel to Camp Nou with a squad whose average age is just over 22 years old.

Barcelona, meanwhile, sit top of the group with two wins from two, including victory at Juventus last time out.
