Neymar, Alba both booked for tonsil surgery
Barcelona decide to send Neymar and Jordi Alba to have their tonsils removed, with both players going under the knife on Friday in their respective home countries.

Barcelona duo Neymar and Jordi Alba have both been booked to have their tonsils removed later this week.

Neymar will undergo the minor procedure at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, while Alba's operation is booked for later the same day in Catalunya.

Each player will be given around nine days to recover from the surgery, with Barca expecting both men to report for pre-season training later this month on schedule.

Alba and Neymar were on opposite teams in the Confederations Cup final last weekend, with Neymar finding the net in a 3-0 Brazil success over reigning world champions Spain.

The Brazilian starlet completed a £48m deal to join Barca early this summer, and is expected to make his competitive debut in the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid on August 21.
