Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Valencia.

Barcelona will look to complete a domestic double when they face Valencia in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night.

The Catalan giants might have fallen short in the Champions League this season, but another brilliant La Liga campaign saw them finish 11 points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Barca will now go in search of their 31st Copa del Rey crown in total and indeed their fifth in a row.

Valencia are seven-time winners of the cup competition, although Los Che have not lifted the trophy since 2008 and will certainly enter the clash as the underdogs.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Barca.

BARCELONA'S INJURY LIST

Ousmane Dembele picked up a hamstring injury in the early stages of the defeat at Celta Vigo on May 4. The Frenchman will therefore be unavailable for selection this weekend.

Possible return date: Pre-season

Rafinha underwent surgery in the latter stages of 2018 after suffering a serious knee injury. The Brazil international is on course to return for the start of pre-season in July, though.

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Valencia)

Arthur has missed Barca's last two La Liga matches with a hip problem. However, Ernesto Valverde confirmed at his press conference after the Eibar game that the midfielder could be available for the Copa del Rey final.

Philippe Coutinho

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Valencia)

Philippe Coutinho picked up a hamstring injury in Barca's 2-0 win over Getafe on May 12. The Brazilian missed out against Eibar on Sunday afternoon and is seen as a major doubt for the clash in Seville.

Luis Suarez

Status: Out

Possible return date: Pre-season

Luis Suarez will also miss out for Barca this weekend after undergoing surgery on a troublesome knee injury. The 32-year-old has scored 25 times in all competitions this season and will be hugely missed.

Nelson Semedo

Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Valencia)

Nelson Semedo spent Sunday evening in hospital after picking up a head injury against Eibar. The rule on concussions means that the right-back is now a major doubt to play a role against Valencia.
