Report: Rafinha to undergo surgery on Tuesday

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is expected to undergo knee surgery on Tuesday afternoon to correct the anterior cruciate ligament injury that he suffered last week.

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha will reportedly undergo knee surgery on Tuesday afternoon as he begins his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The Brazilian suffered the season-ending injury in last week's Champions League clash against Roma, just minutes after entering the field as a second-half substitute.

The seriousness of the injury was revealed after the match and according to various reports in Spain, the 22-year-old will undergo an operation on Tuesday, with the medical team expected to release a statement after the surgery has been completed.

Six to nine months on the sidelines has been the diagnoses for the midfielder, who established himself as a key member of Luis Enrique's squad last season after returning from a loan spell at Celta Vigo.
