Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has claimed that Lionel Messi "will lead the renovation" at the Catalan outfit next season.
Barca failed to pick up a major trophy last term as they watched Atletico Madrid win La Liga and Real Madrid triumph in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
However, Bartomeu is confident that the club will return to their top form in the new campaign, with Messi at the forefront.
"Messi will lead the renovation that we are going to carry out on the team, and he doesn't want to leave, I wish him luck at the World Cup," Bartomeu told reporters at a press conference.
Messi is currently with the Argentina squad at this summer's World Cup.
