Report: Barcelona tried to sign Paco Alcacer in 2011

A report claims that Barcelona tried to sign Paco Alcacer from Valencia in 2011.

Barcelona reportedly tried to sign Paco Alcacer from Valencia in 2011.

The 21-year-old striker, who is regarded as one of the best young talents in La Liga, is set to make his first Spain start in tonight's Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia.

However, according to Sport, Alcacer could have been representing his country for Barcelona.

It is understood that coach of Juvenil A, Oscar Garcia, made the management aware of Alcacer's talents in 2011, but his release clause in the region of £7m was not met.

Alcacer has already netted in the league for Los Che this season.
