Barcelona will be aiming to strengthen their grip on second position in the La Liga table when they travel to Catalan rivals Girona on Saturday evening.

Xavi's side are second in the division, two points clear of third-place Girona, while they sit 11 points behind the leaders Real Madrid, who are on the verge of winning the title.

The reigning La Liga champions will enter this clash off the back of a 4-2 victory over Valencia on Monday, with the team bouncing back from successive losses to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
