Team News: Gerard Pique back for Barcelona

Gerard Pique returns from suspension as Barcelona welcome Sporting Gijon to Camp Nou.

Gerard Pique has returned from suspension as Barcelona welcome Sporting Gijon to Camp Nou this evening.

The tall Spaniard replaces Marc Bartra in the lineup in one of just two changes from the side that walloped Deportivo La Coruna 8-0 in midweek.

Luis Enrique's other alteration is also in the back four, with Sergi Roberto preferred to Dani Alves at right-back.

Luis Suarez, who scored four against Depor, starts alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi up front, while Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta shore up the midfield.

For the visitors, head coach Abelardo names Miguel Angel Guerrero to lead the line ahead of on-loan Roma forward Antonio Sanabria, who starts the game on the bench.

Teenage attacker Alen Halilovic is also named in the starting XI to face his parent side.

Barcelona: Bravo; Roberto, Mascherano, Pique, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Neymar, Suarez, Messi
Subs: Ter Stegen, Alves, Arda Turan, Rafinha, Bartra, Munir, Adriano

Sporting Gijon: Cuellar; Vranjes, Luis, Lichnovsky, Lopez; Mascarell, Rachid, Perez, Halilovic, Menendez; Guerrero
Subs: Dennis, Sergio, Lora, Canella, Castro, Carmona, Sanabria
